Reporting Terminated or Separated Employees for Your Organization

Employers or service bureaus can also report terminations and separations for individuals which they have reported new hires on in the past. If available, employers and service bureaus can search back as far as two years to find employee/independent contractor records for termination. From the left navigation panel, click Report Terminations. On the Report Terminations page, you can search and select an employee/independent contractor from the list of employees/independent contractors in the top half of the screen. To search farther back than the default view, search by SSN/ITIN, first or last name, date of hire or the date the new hire was reported.

When you find the record for the employee/independent contractor which you want to indicate as terminated or separated, click the Add to Terminations List button on the individual record in the list. That specific record will appear in the Terminations List at the bottom half of the screen. On that record, you can check the box to indicate if the employee/independent contractor has a child support case and their last known address on file with your organization. Repeat this process to continue searching and adding individual employee/independent contractor records to the Terminations List.

On the individual records in the Terminations List, you can click Edit Termination Date to change the date of termination, or click Delete to remove the record from the Terminations List. When you are satisfied with the records in your Terminations List, click Submit Terminations button.

Please note: the individual records will remain in the Florida New Hire Reporting Center database and will appear in your searches or on your list of reported new hires, but the column employee/independent contractor Termination Date will be populated with that employee/independent contractor's termination or separation date.

If you have multiple records to report as terminated or separated, use the Upload section at the top of the screen to upload a file with multiple records listed. If you would like to report the termination for an individual not listed who currently has an income withholding order for child support in place, or if you would like to report terminations using your own spreadsheet, please use the Report Terminations form in our Child Support Services for Employers website.
